piece on a bridge

i placed it there at midnight
on a board so sheer
a forty foot drop
to the tracks and the fear
housin' on a ice block stick
with lilac skies around
nothing in this hyped world
could hope to bring it down
but it was gone the next day
impermanent like the clarity
that grabs me through the night
and pleads me here to stay.
